The Magic of Rain

My spirits swell when I see rains, even a drizzle is great. The first thing I do is, make a cup of coffee and rush to my room on the upper level and watch the rains falling on the road, passing traffic on Hwy 403.
It is difficult to relive the magic of rains. It is momentary and has to be enjoyed till it lasts.

Rains always remind me of great numbers like--

Rim jhim gire saawan Manzil, Moushmi Chatterjee and Amitabh.
(Wonder why they were not paired often except for Benaam look like a perfect Bombay couple)

Zindagi bhar nahin bhoolegi woh barsaat ki raat, memories connected to childhood like walking bare- feet in ankle deep waters after school hours, or listening to late night All India Broadcast where they used to play songs from the '50s
We siblings, (two brothers and a sister) used to pull out our chairs and sit on the verandah surrounded by the fragrant Jasmine blossoms in summer and listen to Chaya Geet 10 to 10.30 pm on Vividh Bharthi, at times sipping coffee, at times discussing about movies, music and history--our common family love

Saawan ke jhoole pade, Oh yes, this one is for simple music and beautiful lyrics, and also for watching this movie with my Junior college friends (we were six girls, always ready to watch first day, first show) and getting caught by my brother's friend for bunking class.

Barso re megha, from Guru, foot tapping rhythm by A R Rahman and great picturization
