tandblekningar strips
Pieces of white bass cut and cleaned
Make a paste of chopped onions, garlic and one green chilli
Fennel seeds, dry red chillis and fenugreek seeds
Fish curry ready to be served
Brown rice for healthy options.
I wanted to keep the lunch a simple affair and the second best option (if it is not a dal, rice and some subzi day) is, simple fish curry and some rice.
Here is the ingredients list.
2 medium sized white bass or snapper fish
1 medium sized tomato, chopped
3 medium sized onions
6 flakes of garlic
1 green chilli
5 dried red chillis
1tspoon of fennel seeds
1tspoon of fenugreek seeds
1/4tspoon turmeric powder
1/2tspoon chilli powder
salt to taste
2tbspoons of oil
1/2tspoon tamarind paste
2tbspoons coconut milk
Recipe
wash the fish pieces. in a pan heat oil and add the the fenugreek seeds, fennel seeds and dry red chillies. in a vegetable chopper, chop onions, garlic flakes and green chilli and fry this along with the fenugreek seeds, chills and fennel seeds. Add the chopped tomato, turmeric powder, chilli powder salt. add some water and boil it for about 8 to 10 minutes. add the tamarind paste and the fish pieces. If you feel the gravy is a little thick, dilute it by adding water. let it boil for about 5 minutes and on simmer for another 5 minutes. once the aroma of curry starts wafting, add the coconut milk and let it stay on simmer for about another 2 minutes. garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve with brown or white rice.
